After Hours Emergency Care
Van Isle Veterinary Hospital provides its own afterhours on call emergency service.
We do not refer or share our after hour’s emergency calls for small animals with other veterinary hospitals. Because we have a large team of veterinary doctors and support staff, we can rotate our call schedule within our own facility. We always have a Veterinarian and support staff available by telephone for your after hour’s emergency needs. Your pet’s medical records, blood work, x-rays and past history is accessible to all our Veterinarians while on call.
All after hour’s emergency calls are received by a local telephone answering service. These are not our employees and will not be able to answer any of your veterinary questions but are an answering service whose purpose is to screen for emergency calls only. All telephone calls are responded to by an operator, not an answering machine. Non-emergency calls will be noted and a response will be directed during regular office hours. Emergency calls will be forwarded to the on call Veterinarian who will respond to the caller by telephone in a prompt manner. It is important that the caller remains OFF THE LINE while waiting for a response from the on call Veterinarian.
