Van Isle Veterinary Hospital can provide special services in Canine reproduction. Our commitment is to provide knowledgeable, professional, and punctual veterinary medical advice and services to breeders. We can also provide diagnostics and treatments for reproductive diseases in small animals, especially dogs.
The availability of the veterinary team is very important to breeders. Our companion animals do not have a reproductive cycle that follows a five day work week. Our Hospital and its staff are committed to being there when you need us – whether it is assisting with the timing; assisting with the breeding; or assisting with the delivery.
We don’t share after hours call with other veterinary hospitals, just amongst our own doctors so your pregnancies will be followed by one team of experienced professionals. We provide access to veterinary services on an emergency on call basis from our Hospital 7 days a week, 24 hours of the day.
We have recently purchased a license and have taken the training to qualify as an ICSB Licensed Facility. We are the only licensed ICSB facility on Vancouver Island. The International Canine Semen Bank license provides us with access to the technology for the collection, freezing and storage of canine semen in liquid nitrogen indefinitely, as well as providing access to the licensed semen extenders and diluents from ICSB.

- live cover or artificial insemination including; vaginal, transcervical and surgical insemination
- Pregnancy checks using ultrasonography or digital x-ray

- The only ICSB licensed facility on Vancouver Island
- K9 semen freezing and storage bank
- Shipping/Receiving frozen or fresh chilled semen
- Semen collections and evaluation
- Puppy wellness checks, vaccines, and microchipping
- Pediatric Spays and Neuters
