Surgery

Surgery remains as one of the most invasive processes in the body. Elective surgeries include any procedure that can be scheduled without the concern for immediate risk to life. Simple lumpectomies, eyelid disorders, spays and neuters, and hernia repairs would all be categorized as routine surgery and would be “elective” or “scheduled”.

Non-Elective Surgeries would be those which are life threatening or which are resulting in unreasonable pain. These surgeries include orthopedic repair, gastrointestinal accidents, wound repair, and some mass removals.

Our facility provides a wide variety of surgical services including but not limited to:

  • Urogenital surgery – spays/neuters, urinary bladder surgery and stone removal
  • Orthopedic surgery – cruciate ligament (ACL) repair, reductions/luxations, pins/wires & bone plating
  • Gastrointestinal surgery - gastropexy, foreign body removal, intestinal accidents, neoplasia
  • Eye/Ears/Nose/Throat surgery - cherry eye (entropion/extropion), eyelid diseases, stenotic nares and elongated soft palate, external ear canal repair
  • Dermatological surgery
  • Soft tissue surgery – wound repair, masses
  • Cryosurgery – liquid nitrogen to freeze tissue

We utilize the experience of our own veterinarians as well as referral veterinarians for surgery on-site at our hospital.
