Animal Care Attendant
I chose the Veterinary Field because I love working and being with animals that are in need of help. I completed the Animal Care Aid course at North Island College and graduated in 2018. I am interested in becoming a Registered Vet Tech because they do a little bit of everything with the animals, I hope to become one day. I love working with all the different animals that come in, and I love the people I work with. Fun fact: I like to ride my horse, and walk my dogs in my spare time.

Get a Cupcake and Support BC Animals in Need during Treat Week! Feb 24 - Mar 1

Van Isle Veterinary Hospital is super excited to be hosting our 4th annual cupcake day fundraiser! BCSPCA celebrates “Treat Week” across the Province from Feb 24th – March 1st 2020 where business, pet owners and animal lovers can bake up a storm and sell treats with the proceeds going to BC animals in need. Van Isle Veterinary Hospital will be baking more than 70 dozen cupcakes, cookies, squares and treats in the hopes of beating last year’s donations of $2600 (in just 7 hours!). Many local businesses such as Finders Keepers, Old House Notary, ABC Printing, Kal Tire, 50th Parallel, Stu Tunheim – Wealth Management, Bosleys, Westview Ford and Monica Parkin – Coast Capital Savings are showing their support early with special pre-orders to help animals in need. A special shout out to Cumberland Bakery for donating 12 doz of their delicious donut holes to help us reach our goal. Each year the team at Van Isle Veterinary Hospital is blown away by the support from within the community as well local businesses who pull together for this great cause.  Don’t miss out on Monday! Come early to get your favourite treats. Baked goods will be available from 9:00 am until 7:00 pm or when they sell out. There will be gluten-free and vegan options available, as well as special cupcakes for our four-legged friends to enjoy too.   By Candice Pacholuk
