Dr. Laura Davenport

Veterinarian
I was raised in the Comox Valley and cannot imagine living elsewhere. My first pet was a Basset Hound, followed by a menagerie of critters. I graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 2016 and high-tailed it back home, to once again enjoy our beautiful Island. Van Isle was a natural fit since I basically grew up here and knew it would offer many opportunities to practice excellent medicine. A fun fact about myself is that I started volunteering at the clinic when I was 16, then worked in various positions until going back to school. I enjoy my job because there is never a dull moment and I am constantly challenged. Plus, I get to see all sorts of different animals in a day. My favourite thing about the clinic is the great team environment and constant supply of treats. My life outside work is spent with my wonderful husband, our ever-amusing baby daughter and our small pack of dogs. We can usually be found by a river or playing in the dirt.
