Dr. Mireille de Winter

Dr. Mireille de Winter was born in Holland, but spent her formative years in Sussex, New Brunswick. Mireille originally moved to Courtenay in the early 1990s and spent several years enjoying the beautiful Comox Valley and all it had to offer. After 10 years of working in the many aspects of veterinary practice, she decided to return to the East Coast to obtain her degree in veterinary medicine from the Atlantic Veterinary College in Charlottetown, P.E.I.

Upon graduating in 2006, Mireille returned to the Comox Valley to join the Van Isle team and once again enjoy the island lifestyle of hiking, biking, and walking with her dogs, Tread and Millie. Mireille is still very much a small-town girl, and applies the small-town values she grew up with, to all her relationships both personal and professional. Dr. de Winter is passionate about her work and loves the people she works with.

Dr. Mireille de Winter was voted the Reader’s Choice Individual 2020 Award for Best Veterinarian – First Finalist!
