At Van Isle Veterinary Hospital, we can offer the most current advice on preventative health care, including the right vaccinations for your dog. We firmly believe that each animal is an individual and not every vaccine is right for every pet. Our veterinarians will work with you to put together the right vaccine program that is not only essential for your dog’s overall health, but appropriate for your dog’s age, lifestyle and travel needs.
What types of vaccinations do you offer for adult dogs?
For adult dogs, we offer Canine Distemper, Parvovirus and Adenovirus as our core “combo” vaccine as well as rabies, Bordetella (kennel cough), Leptospirosis and Lyme disease.
Is there a schedule for how often to vaccinate a dog?
Here at Van Isle Veterinary Hospital, we recommend vaccinating adult dogs every 3 years after the initial puppy vaccine(s) and primary adult vaccines) have been administered. However, Bordetella (kennel cough) and Leptospirosis is administered annually as required.
Why is it important to vaccinate your dog?
Vaccinating your dog is not only important to maintain good health, but to reduce the spread of disease. Recommendations will be made by your veterinarian depending on your dog’s lifestyle and travel needs.
How much do dog vaccinations cost?
As each dog is treated as an individual, not all dogs will require the same vaccines. The cost will vary depending on your pet’s needs so we recommend you to call one of our receptionists at 250-334-8400, or send us an email to info@vanislevet.com to obtain an accurate quote.
