With an impressive 35 years of experience as a veterinarian, Dr. McFarlen is well-versed in facilitating medical and surgical interventions, administering preventative healthcare measures, providing holistic veterinary care, and blending elements of traditional Chinese medicine into her practice. She also specializes in conducting ultrasound examinations for both abdominal and cardiac conditions, making her a valuable go-to amongst her peers.

Motivated by her genuine fondness for people and the incredible bond they share with their animal companions, she ensures the happiness and comfort of pets leading to contented owners. Born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan, Dr. McFarlen spent most of her life in Alberta before settling on Vancouver Island. She earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine and is certified in Sonographic Diagnostic Efficiency Protocol (SDEP) ECHO for ultrasound by Sonopath. In 2017, she authored the book “Bone Broth Diet for Pets,” showcasing her commitment to animal health and well-being.

In her leisure time, Dr. McFarlen enjoys walking in the woods with her dog, indulging in cold water dips in the ocean or rivers, embracing outdoor adventures, and cherishing moments with family and friends.
