Dr. Christie Lauzon
I am originally from South Surrey and grew up surrounded by a mini zoo of pets: cats, dogs, birds, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, fish, turtles and my sister had horses. So from a young age, I grew to love pets and knew that I wanted to work with them if I could. I graduated from veterinary school in 2007 from the University of Melbourne, Australia. I loved it down under so much, that I practiced for there for a year, before returning home in 2009. Since then, I have worked up north and in the lower mainland. My husband grew up in the Comox Valley and has always wanted to return, it is the perfect place to raise our two young boys. I joined the clinic in July 2018. I really enjoy all aspects of my job, but surgery and dentistry really interest me. My first pet was a tabby cat, named Todd. I love meeting new people and helping them take care of their four-legged family members. My favourite thing about working at Van Isle Veterinary Hospital is that the staff here are all so warm and welcoming. I also love Wanda the fish, my son cannot stop talking about her! A fun fact about me is that I enjoy knitting and board games.
