Dr. Jessica Lin
I was born in the UK, but spent most of my youth here in BC – up north in Terrace as a child, and in the Cowichan Valley as a teen. I went to vet school at Murdoch University in Western Australia, where I spent my free time kitesurfing on the Indian Ocean and camping in the outback with my two huskies!
After graduation, I completed an intensive internship at a top equine hospital in the UK before working in mixed equine/small-animal general practice. I then spent a few years with no fixed address while travelling abroad and locuming all over the UK as a small animal vet, from the island of Jersey to the Scottish borders and everywhere in between! I met my now-husband while backpacking in Jordan and eventually joined him to live in the French Pyrenees before returning home to the island in 2020. I enjoy the wide variety of cases here at Van Isle, and being able to work with such talented and team-oriented colleagues.
Outside of work, I travel whenever possible and enjoy all things outdoors – you may find me running, biking or hiking in the forest, surfing in Tofino, or snowboarding at Mt Washington! I care about mental wellness and encourage pet owners to learn about and support the #NotOneMoreVet initiative.
