Introducing Dr. Christie Lauzon!

We recently welcomed a new member to our Van Isle Veterinary Hospital family, and we are so pleased to introduce Dr. Christie Lauzon. Dr. Lauzon joins us from her most recent time in South Surrey and has moved to the beautiful Island to raise her two children with her husband, Nick.
Dr. Lauzon studied in Melbourne, Australia and graduated with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. Since then she has had a diverse veterinary experience, practicing in Australia, Northern B.C., and on the mainland. We sat down with Christie and had a little chat about her life as a DVM:

Q: Why are you a veterinarian?

A: “I always wanted to be a veterinarian. I grew up one of five girls and my family owned every kind of animal possible. I always knew it was what I would grow up to do, and I never outgrew that!”

Q: What’s your favourite thing to do outside of work?

A: “I love spin classes, hiking, and spending time with my family outside. Oh, and I love knitting!”

Q: If you were an animal, what would you be and why?

A: (Without a moment’s hesitation) “A Golden Doodle. I have the same hair, I love to eat, and I am a little hyperactive (haha).”

Q: What is your proudest veterinarian moment?

A: “Once I repaired a broken leg on a Budgie. I splinted the leg with a toothpick!”

Please come in and meet our latest addition, Dr. Christie Lauzon! Welcome, Christie!
